Notice to the Public
In compliance with Executive Order 11246 and all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and policies, the Georgetown County School District shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of gender, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, race, color, national origin, religion, or disability in any of the educational programs and activities it operates.
All students may participate in the District’s educational programs and activities, including but not limited to health education, physical education, music education and vocational education, without regard to gender, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, race, color, national origin, religion, or disability.
It is the intent of the Georgetown County School District to comply with both the letter and spirit of the law in ensuring that discrimination does not exist in its policies, procedures and operations. Complaint/grievance procedures are available to any student, parent/guardian or employee who believes that she/he has been discriminated against by the District.
Complaints of discrimination may be made at the school level as set forth in District Policy and/or to the relevant District Coordinator as identified below. Complaints of discrimination also may be filed with the Office of Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Education.
