Giving
Giving is fundamental to the success of Coastal Montessori Charter School like it is to any school, whether it’s volunteering your time to teach knitting, read in a classroom, man the school library, or supplement a class’ hamster food. We strive to provide platforms for people to share their talents and passions with our students through volunteering.
As a charter school we face a few funding challenges conventional public schools do not, so contributions to our various fundraisers throughout the year help us tremendously. Teachers often use DonorsChoose.org, a website that allows them to run mini fundraising campaigns for specific items they need in their classroom or that can be shared throughout the school.
If you would like to make a monetary donation to CMCS, please contact our Operations Manager, Kristy Harbaugh.
Current Fundraisers
Our Christmas Tree fundraiser was a success and we look forward to offering premium Frasier Fir trees again next year!
Middle School
Several of our middle school students will be visiting the Catalina Island Marine Institute in California during their spring break this spring. To mitigate the travel costs, they are selling Charleston Wrap products and have set up a GoFundMe page for donations!
Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN)
Each year, a group of 6th grade students travel to New York City to participate in the annual MMUN International Conference. While in NYC, these students present resolutions and participate in a mock United Nations conference.
These hard-working 6th grade students work all year to raise funds for this opportunity. They run bake sales, host “Wacky Wednesdays”, sell t-shirts and sponsorships, and more! Keep an eye on our facebook page for current fundraisers. If you would like to contribute to this cause, please mail a check to the school at 111 Old Plantation Drive, Pawleys Island, SC 29585, or contact the front office at 843-235-0413.
