We aim to provide a fair and open system of access to Coastal Montessori Charter School, a FREE public Montessori school in Georgetown County.
Coastal Montessori Charter School (CMCS) will admit children in 1st through 8th grade who are eligible to attend school in the Georgetown County School District subject to space limitations, and based on grade levels served.
There are three steps involved in the student enrollment procedure:
- Completion of the one-page Application for Enrollment Consideration
- Selection based on availability
- Completion of the New Student Enrollment Packet
There is no test required for admission.
Open Enrollment for the 2020 – 2021 School Year
Download the Form Here
An Open Enrollment period occurs each fall and ends on December 13th. Application for Enrollment Consideration forms are accepted all year long. An application received after the deadline of December 13, 2019 will not be entered in the public lottery but will be placed on the waiting list in the order in which it is received. Get more information on How to Apply.
If the number of applicants exceeds the number of openings selections are made by public lottery in accordance with SC Charter School law. Lottery attendance is not required for CMCS admission.
Rolling Admissions Policy
In addition to an Open Enrollment period, Coastal Montessori Charter School has a rolling admissions policy. This means that CMCS welcomes Applications for Enrollment Consideration year-round. Families are made aware if spots are available. If not, students are placed on a waiting list.
New Enrollment Packet
Once a student is admitted a New Student Enrollment Packet must be filled out. This packet will be emailed to you when your child is offered a spot at Coastal Montessori. It may be printed and filled out at home and returned via US mail, email or fax. This must be returned to the school in its entirety within 14 calendar days of receipt or you will forfeit your spot.
As your child is enrolled your active email address will be added to our database so you can receive our Weekly Updates and News Flashes, our primary means of communication. If you would prefer printed copies sent home with your child, contact our Operations Manager Ms. Tia Bergeron by email or phone at 843-235-0413. Anyone can sign up to receive our eblasts.
Just before school starts in August, CMCS holds Registration Days where families come in to register new and returning students. This must be done every year for every student.
Information regarding Registration Days, Dress Code and Uniform Policy, our first Open House, classroom supply lists, etc. are found on this website as well as communicated through Weekly Updates and News Flashes before the start of school.
