Weekly Update – October 23

Good Sunday Afternoon Families,

I hope I am finding all of you well on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. We have a busy week ahead of us at CMCS. We spent last week researching important Greek figures. The students will be doing their Gallery Walk this Tuesday where they will share their knowledge by presenting their figure to the rest of the class!

We welcomed two new students into our classroom environment this past week! We are helping them to settle in and learn the lay of the land. It is so wonderful to watch how immediately accepting and welcoming the students have been!

Please join us at the new Murrells Inlet Mellow Mushroom this Monday for an all day fundraiser! I will be there after school and I hope to see familiar faces from our classroom!  Mention CMCS to your server and 10% of all sales will go towards supporting our 6th years attending the MMUN trip to New York. Don’t miss Costume Karaoke from 6:00-7:30!

This Wednesday is Formal Dining Day AND we have the pleasure of hosting a guest educational speaker, meteorologist Ed Piotrowski!

We are SO CLOSE to reaching our goal for our classroom Donor’s Choose Project! Just $69.50 left to go!

We will begin Pumpkin Math Monday, October 30. The students are very excited about this! We are in need of three more pumpkins to be able to have everyone participate!

Can you believe it is almost Halloween? This Friday, October 27, is our hurricane make up half-day. Dismissal will be at 11:25am. Our wonderful PTO has put together a fun-filled Halloween Event which be held on Friday. Costumes are welcome, and please see the guidelines below:
