Weekly Update

Hello families,

This week is Metric Week in South Carolina. I have decided that all week long we will be focusing on the metric system across the curriculum. We will tie it into Language Arts, Reading, and, of course, Math! We will still have Wordly Wise and Math homework as usual…the math will be geared towards our metric lessons!

The 4th years have First Tee again this week on Thursday. Please make sure your child wears a collared shirt and khaki shorts/skirt! He/she will not be able to attend if they wear a t-shirt or gym shorts! If he or she chooses to wear a non-uniform collared shirt, then make sure they have a uniform shirt to change into once we return.

Make-up school photos will be taken on Friday, October 13th.

Reminder! I NEED parent drivers for the field trip on Monday, October 16th to the salt marsh. As of now, I have heard from 3 parents (thank you!) and without drivers, we may have to back out of this trip. You do not have to stay for the entire time, we simply need a shuttle to and from the Oyster Landing. Please let me know if you can help with chaperoning or shuttling.

Here is the link to the permission slip, please fill out for your child.

Children need to pack a fresh uniform to change into AFTER the field trip. For the trip, all students need to wear OLD CLOTHES THAT CAN GET WET AND MUDDY, OLD TIE ON SHOES THAT CAN GET WET AND MUDDY, bring a lunch and extra water, wear sunscreen, and bring bug spray (please don’t pre-apply)! Feel free to send along cast nets or seine nets if you have one for sampling in the creek.

Ms. Antoinette will have 2 sessions of The Sewing Hour in November; one session held on Wednesdays and one held on Thursdays. Please see the attached flyer.

Here is the meal order form for the week of October 16th:

Have a wonderful week!
