After hearing SC Superintendent of Education Dr. Mick Zais address charter school leaders at the SC Public Charter School Leadership Summit held in Columbia on September 27 and 28, CMCS Chair Dr. Kristin Bohan had an opportunity to speak with him.
“I wanted him to know first and foremost that the school district officials in Georgetown County have been open and supportive and really just wonderful to work with,” Bohan said. “Dr. Zais told us we don’t need to reform education, we need to transform it. He obviously believes in innovation, choice, and high accountability and seemed genuinely happy to hear about the newly chartered Montessori school on the coast. I assured him we were doing our best to give families in our community another excellent choice for their children.”
Also in attendance at the conference were CMCS board of directors Rob Horvath, Jason Hendrix and Rachel Tomovski.
