Studio Art for Middle School Students

This year, Middle Students can elect to take Studio Art.  In this course, students work on a series of self-directed projects which communicate a common theme to the viewer.

Students also work on collaborative projects, such as the International Paper Mural project.  For this particular project, their process began by developing individual concept sketches which they presented to each other.  This led to a singular concept which was further refined, and is now being executed by teams of two.  They have decided to illustrate five snow globes on a windowsill, with elements of the winter season combined with elements of our Montessori curriculum.

Their completed mural is due to be submitted on November 15, at which time it will be displayed at International Paper with murals from all schools within the Georgetown County School District.  Be sure to check back for progress photos of this exciting project.
