Middle School Adventures –a glimpse at why we’ve been so busy!

March 2017

Hello All,

Our CMCS Middle School students and teachers have been initiating and experiencing so many incredible components of the Montessori educational theory this year; we want to take this time to showcase some of our exciting events while looking back over the past few months’ adventures: Awendaw Birds of Prey/Poe’s Tavern trip, Huntington Beach overnight camping, holiday adopt-a-family event, STEAM performances, cookbook/picnic table preparation for the CMCS Gala, and so many other wonderful activities.

Since our return after the holiday break, we have been integrating our curriculum (esp. science/social studies/English) as well as studying all about nature and our positive impact on our world via our conservation/recycling activities, exploration of real-world business concepts, and community service outreach sessions at the Montessori School of Pawleys Island and The Lakes at Litchfield.

The end of this month will feature another overnight experience at Clemson University!  Students will be immersed in the forensics lab for a crime scene investigation simulation, take a university tour, see a tribute to Miles Davis at a jazz concert, participate in a team-building ropes course, and cheer on the Tigers at a baseball game. We will post more exciting updates/photos after we return! Stay tuned!  Meanwhile, here are some highlights from our recent (and past) adventures:
