Timeline of Life

The students enjoyed another of the five great lessons this past week. We told the story of the coming of life; this lesson revolves around the Timeline of Life, a long chart with illustrations and information about microorganisms, plants, and animals that have lived, or now live, on the earth. The great variety of life is emphasized, and special care is paid to the role that each living thing does to contribute to life on earth. The scholars recreate the timeline in this work and will create a book, poster, and/or art work of their choice of a specific era.

Enjoy our collection of photos from last week!

Squirt was an outstanding subject for our lesson on external parts of a reptile. Thank you, Roxie, for sharing him with us for the day!

Lyla uses the mortar pestle to grind up eggshells. We use the crushed shells to nourish our worms and plants.

We had a funeral for over-used words. We promised to let these words rest, and that we would find more interesting words to use in their place!
