February always seems to fly by. This month is filled with great learning experiences and activities. Please don’t hesitate to email me with questions.
Next Wednesday and Friday mornings, Feb 8 and Feb 10, the students will present their independent research projects. Parents are welcome to attend! The presentations will be very brief, lasting about 5-7 minutes each. If you have a preferred day, please email me as soon as possible. I will try to accommodate everyone’s preference.
This month is we will be listening to and reading about various African Americans in honor of Black History Month. During music this week Mr. Chad showed the students a great “timeline” of music videos highlighting famous musicians over the past decade. It was wonderful listening to the student’s comments. Ms. Jacque and I enjoyed watching a few “blasts from the past”, too!
The CMCS Gala is next Saturday, February 11th! Our matching set of lamps with hand scrolled paper lampshades is just about ready! There were over 800 sheets of recycled magazine paper rolled into “straws” and then scrolled into beautiful little circles. The finished product is truly an amazing creation. Much of the funds raised will go toward sorely missed and needed raised garden beds for the classrooms! I am very excited about getting back outside and gardening with the students. I hope to see you all there!
We will pass out Valentine’s in the classroom. It would be great if the cards had individual names on them written by your child? We will pass out cards in the afternoon. Any treats sent in as a part of the Valentine will be sent home with your child.
