This year, CMCS is going through AdvancED reaccreditation and one aspect of reaccreditation is surveying our community, i.e. parents and guardians, regarding their opinion of our teaching and learning practices and environment. Please take a moment and follow the link below to complete a parent survey on behalf of our school. It is very important that we have all of our families’ information and feedback. When you go to the link, please select “Coastal Montessori Charter School” from the list and then the survey will begin. All surveys must be completed by November 16th.

Thank you for caring about our school and giving your feedback.

FRIDAY- -PTO Halloween Fun!!  – Students can come dressed in costume.  Costume expectations to be sent home this week.
               – Early Dismissal – Students dismissed at 11:25.

Parent – Teacher- Conferences:

Parent Teacher Conferences began this week and I’ve enjoyed talking with parents about their child’s progress in school.  We don’t get enough time like this, but I appreciate the moments I do have to spend time getting to know parents.  Having conversations with parents greatly helps me to meet your child’s needs better.

Mid Way Fire Department:

CMCS welcomed the Mid Way Fire Department today for some fire education.  Ask your child about it!

Pumpkin Math

Last week, we began Pumpkin Math.  This week, we were “elbow” deep in pumpkin flesh and seeds!  The faces are all carved out and we’re ready for the story writing to begin!

Our In-Class Thursday lunches are so great, that I need to mention them most weeks.  This weekly activity offers such a rich experience in cooking, math, planning, manners, grace, and courtesy.  We plan to begin inviting other teachers to our meals soon.  We’re very used to being together for a meal.  Opening up our lunch to other adults will help students practice being hospitable to guests.

Not only are our students learning about the science that comes along with food preparation, they are learning about recycling containers and composting! At CMCS, we are helping prepare good stewards of our planet.

Lunch this week: “Toasted” cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, strawberries, and our roasted pumpkin seeds.
